Walk By Faith (Dacian Lyric Song)
Lord, O Lord Whenever the repentance of sin I ask. Half-hearted my tone has been. Although change I ask before eyes close. The pleasures of sin I dream.
Take me into your arms dear Lord. Forgive me on each hour. I’m of age, yet milk covers my tongue. For even a wise man once refused to learn.
You have seen me clearly when I’d hidden away. Heard each lie before the word I say. My repentance is but once, you forgive it twice. I pull away like the curious child. You release your grip to keep a watchful eye.
I’m cold then hot, lukewarm at best. Why of me you’ve requested this task. What is this greatness in me you see? Or isn’t that what you seek?
A commoner I am, even well content to be. O what place is far away to run? O what lone reason is there to give? You have summoned me from the afar background- And commanded me up front to lead.
Although my distance run from you was far, identical signs I see. Surely my calling the same no doubt, I’ve only taken the longer route.
And I do know that Moses resisted. Even Jonah ran quickly. Yet, neither was able to escape.
So, I have strapped on my sandals— Gathered myself.
